battery bar seriously messed up
Hi
I have been "hot swapping" my acer aspire one's batteries for some time.
Battery bar has coped with this beautifully - until i ran ccleanerSad

battery #1 - the original is getting a little long in the tooth and as such, battery bar reports that it is 59% up the creek.

Battery #2 - is a 9 cell jobbie and battery bar shows its capacity slightly higher than its actual capacity - i can live with that.

Then i go and run ccleanerAngry battery #1 now reports a miraculous recovery! still 59% shot but now estimating 3 hrs run time - i never had that when it was new!!!! 47 minutes is more realistic 1 hr at a push.

battery #2 has suffered a serious accident! having lost 60% of its runtime in an instant!

Its obvious that ccleaner has either merged 2 lots of historic data- or has put battery bar on the fritz!

I have tried a reinstall to no avail. Does anyone know what i can do to restore what was a most useful piece of software back to its former glory?

many thanks in advance
Andy

RE: battery bar seriously messed up
Andy, are you using the free or Pro version?

The historical data is saved in XML files and not in the registry. It's really unlikely that CCLeaner could have affected anything unless it deleted the XML files.

Please run the steps to submit a bug report and if you can post your BatteryBar.Profiles.xml and BatteryBar.Settings.xml files from the %APPDATA%\BatteryBar folder.

RE: battery bar seriously messed up
hi - i'm currently using the free version but if the pro version can identify 2 or more individual battery profiles, i would swap in an instant.

the free version was coping with two beautifully, till i cleaned the pc! it has now, however sorted itself out thoughn it is still not as accurate as it was.
I cannot seem to find any way of adjusting any settings [either before or after activating pro demo] shown on the pro page. Right clicking does not bring up settings option on its menu i have the following choices
about upgrade or close, until 10 minutes ago, i also had the option to activate the pro demo but that has since disappeared [because i just activated pro?]
I cannot see any difference at all between the free version and pro

RE: battery bar seriously messed up
ok have bitten the bullet today -
i am now running the pro version and all the above issues have been resolved - other than the relative lack of accuracy [compared to before i ran cleaner] This too seems to be improving.

have worked out that the battery profile log is a csv file. could i please ask, when opened in excel, what data is stored in columns G & H?
the others are pretty self explanatory:-

a=date&time
b=battery id
c=charge or discharge
d=raw pecent data to 5 figures
e=real displayed pecentage
f=discharge rate in mW

many thanks for your help thus far

g = time remaining in seconds (I believe it's RAW time remaining, but it might be estimated, I have to check)
h = voltage

Many thanks Chris._ Last Question [for now?] Is there a way to make battery bar identify each battery with a more "human friendly" name.
I.e. Battery #1, battery #2 battery #3 etc.?
Right now, mine uses [i guess] the serial number.

RE: battery bar seriously messed up
The only way BatteryBar can tell the difference between two batteries is by their ID value. You want some sort of option to assign a nickname to a battery? Any thoughts on where in the UI such an option would fit?
