Download BatteryBar 3.5.1 beta
This release includes the following fixes. No new features have been added. Quote:FIX: Fixed Discharge rate estimation for batteries that don't report the discharge rate. This feature was broken in 3.5.0 due to code refactoring to support the dual battery status popup |

RE: BatteryBar 3.5.1 beta
Chris,
Just installed this and I can confirm the estimated charge/discharge rate is shown in the popup. It does seem to take a while before it is shown, but I assume that is because it takes a sample or two before you can calculate it. Also, the automatic update didn't work. I didn't get notified about the version. So I pressed the update button on the about dialog and it displayed details of the version. But when I said to download and install it, there was an error. Unfortunately, I didn't record it but it was something like "error downloading update" plus a reference to your website. If you need the details, I can go back a version and try again. David |

RE: BatteryBar 3.5.1 beta
As far as the rate estimation, if your battery doesn't report it then yes, it takes several samples to calculate the change in capacity over time.
As far as the update, the automatic check only happens on startup. I tested the update and it worked for me. I double-checked the download URL and it's correct. It could just be a temporary network error. |

RE: BatteryBar 3.5.1 beta
I think the download problem was Norton Internet Security blocking it. I discovered something in its logs saying it had blocked the file due to "WS.Reputation.1" which seems to mean that not enough NIS users had used the file. Everything was OK on another laptop running NIS, but it might still have NIS2010 instead of 2011.
