I am a paid "Pro" customer.

I upgraded to v3.5.6 yesterday, and now my BatteryBar in the System Tray shows 0:00 whenever the Dell Latitude is plugged into its' docking station. It does show a proper average of the two batteries when I change the display. The legend "A/C" does not appear except fleetingly when the product is first launched.

So, is this a bug, or a feature? Why not show "A/C" when on AC? How is "O:00" informative?
This is on a Windows XP Pro SP3 system with all updates-to-date.

The battery of my Thinkpad x61 recently died and I had it re-packed with higher capacity cells.
The old cells were 2.6Ah and the new cells are 3.1Ah.

The battery controller didn’t take that well.
Now when Lenovo Power Manager shows 1% remaining battery and 0 minutes runtime left (reported battery voltage at that point is 13.33V), the laptop keeps working for another 40 minutes and then dies completely without warning (reported voltage at that point is 12,15V - got this value using a battery voltage logger.

Of course, all Windows critical alarms/actions are turned off, or Windows would shutdown or put the laptop into a standby mode at 3% or so.

Will BatteryBar Pro be able to predict the actual battery capacity/runtime accurately (well, more or less) or does it estimate these values based on what the battery "tells" Windows?

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
Mr. Chris, encouraged by the good reviews I've read online, about your BatteryBar, I downloaded the free version to try before you buy and what was my surprise that, after installing it on my laptop Acer Aspire 3630, with Windows Home SP3, shows me a bar with black background, which puts an "Without Bat", as seen in the screenshot. As the battery if it is connected and the corresponding LED lights up, I researched a little and I checked in the device manager, the battery was disabled. Thinking he had found the cause of "No Bat", I've enabled and at that time, my pc has become unstable. With great difficulty I managed to restart in "Safe Mode" and went back to disable it, so blocking is resolved. Not so the message of BatteryBar, which remains "No Bat".
As a clue to try to solve this problem, I can tell you, by chance, I discovered that BatteryBar, was installed as a toolbar in my browser extensions and Internet Explorer, as shown in the screenshot.
I would appreciate your feedback to fix this annoying situation.
With thanks in advance, Yours faithfully.
PD) had previously tried putting this message, without success, so I have sent an email to you with this issue, which you can ignore.
It seems the problem to put the message in the Forum, was that I had not registered but who wrote bad Pach, that was the answer I got, to send the message to the forum. Perhaps this should be corrected.
Thanks for your time.

Hi there,

I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong, or there's an issue with BatteryBar... I installed BatteryBar Pro on my Windows 8 based Asus Vivotab (with a secondary battery in the keyboard dock) and I find that the estimated time remaining varies wildly between sleeps, anywhere from around 18 hours, right down to being warned I only had a few minutes of power left at 80% charge!

On a full charge, Asus reckons you can get around 19 hours (10 from the tablet plus 9 from the dock). My tablet is currently fully charged, with the dock attached and BatteryBar is reporting 5 hours and 30 minutes of charge remaining.

I appreciate that this is a relatively new architecture which features the low power sleep whereby the system remains active to receive emails etc, so I'm wondering if it's simply a case of BB needing an update to handle this, or whether there's something I can do such as recalibrate or set a particular option somewhere.

There were also a couple of issues which have been recently patched; one whereby the dock battery was being drained particularly quickly, and another that held the CPU at around 30% usage even when asleep. I'm wondering if these have skewed the estimations somewhat and how I could fix it.

Oh, and while we're on the subject of Windows 8, how about a version that has a live tile with battery stats?

Anyway, thanks for reading and thanks for any info you can supply!

Hey there!
I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon ultrabook and BatteryBar constantly (e.g. not sometimes, always) displays incorrect Full Runtime (remaining time), which it puts at 3:52/54. In reality the notebook usually lasts around 7-8 hours or so.
Also, this notebook is the first (if I'm not mistaken) to support Lenovo's RapidCharge technology, which charges a notebook to 80% of its capacity in 30 minutes. I'm not sure it's related, but I figured it might be worth mentioned this as well.
I did not check whether BatteryBar displays other battery-related parameters incorrectly, but that also might be the case and hence IF it's possible it might make sense to have a look at other things as well.

Anyhow, would it be possible to somehow look into why the time is displayed incorrectly? I would be happy to provide whatever information necessary (logs, debug info, etc.) from my side or to help in any other way(s) to get this thing fixed up.

Chris, thanks for getting Battery Bar working in Windows 8..

But, it has a bug still.. or it might be considered a nusance..

After BB is installed, BB appears on the tool bar (good) and can be in Hide or Show mode.

If in Show mode, and then a Restart or boot.. then the Windows start-up will stall with (showing) a partially activated desktop with the BB icon shown. Then, I must use the Windows start charm to get to the normal start app tile window, from which.. when the desktop tile is selected the fully initialized desktop will appear and be proper.

If the BB toolbar is not shown at shutdown, then when the next Windows start-up is done. there is no such pause.. and the startup progresses to the proper/normal initial Win8 "start" view. I must remember to put the BB icon in hide mode prior to shutdown. So, the next boot does not stall.

Using Win 8 Pro on a Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2. getting 10+ hrs of runtime from fully charged state.

Hope this includes enough info to diagnose and fix the problem.. feel free to contact me directly .. or to test any potential fix..

btw.. using the BB 3.5.5 infree mode.

Thanks for you efforts.
