Version 3.4 - Toolbar does not run
I am running Version 3.3 on my netbook with WinXP and it worked great.

I now downloaded version 3.4 of the bar and it won't run. When I try to display the bar in the Windows Taskbar-Menu, I get the error message "BatteryBar was unable to load stored data. BatteryBar will continue to operate, but your battery usage information will not be saved."

After that I don't see the BatteryBar, although the bar is marked with a tick. There seems to be an empty bar, because I see another bar-seperator in the taskbar, but there is no content.

Rebooting or reinstalling brings no success.

But I was able to reinstall version 3.3 and everything works fine again.

Greetings
Gero

I have gone back to 3.3 also until there is a solution here. I had to restore my backup data file that was stored under my user profile.

RE: Version 3.4 - Toolbar does not run
I haven't been able to reproduce this issue. If someone can list the exact steps they take to cause this issue we'll test it and see if we can find the cause.

Please list:
* The exact version you're running before the upgrade, including version number and type (floating or taskbar)
* The exact steps for installation
* Which installation options are selected (floating or taskbar)
* Any error messages that may be seen during the installation
* If you have anti-virus

Win XP (German), Battery Bar Pro 3.3.3, Taskbar

Download of BatteryBarSetup-3.4.0.exe and installation over 3.3, Reboot of the system.

Taskbar.
I tried floating also but without any difference. I just noticed, that the entry appears in the XP-startmenu unter "Startup" although the autorun-folder is named "Autostart" in XP.

No error message during installation. A message appears after rebooting the system an running 3.4.

Avira Antivir personal.

RE: Version 3.4 - Toolbar does not run
After installation, why do you reboot? You shouldn't be prompted to reboot. The upgraded version should immediately take effect by restarting the taskbar (explorer) during the install process.

It doesn't matter if you reboot or not, the message appears after installation and after the reboot i.e. whenever BatteryBar 3.4 is launched.

RE: Version 3.4 - Toolbar does not run
I may be able to shed some additional light on the situation. I had version 3.4 of battery bar on Win 7 - been working flawlessly for a month. Today I replaced my 3 cell battery with a 9 cell. It still worked, though obviously providing incorrect usage data. I decided now was a good time to upgrade to Battery Bar pro, so I did that. Again, it worked fine. However, when I went into the settings and told it to delete the battery profiles that were stored, it will now no longer open, showing the error message described here. Uninstall and reinstall won't work.

I was able to get it working by deleting the BatteryBar folder located in Users\username\AppData\Roaming

It appears that uninstalling does not delete this folder even if you tell it to
