When your battery is fully charged and you are on A/C, the battery icon will either be black or green. I, personally, prefer the black because green tells me the battery is discharging, so I might think the power cable isn't connected or came loose. So the black tells me that it's not discharging. Some people prefer it the other way.

Do you have any suggestions how to rename the two versions of the theme to make this more clear?

Hm, percaps you can call it Thinkbar-AC-BLACK and Thinkbar-AC-GREEN.
