BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
BB gives the subject error message during boot-up, along with a second line, "BatteryBar" will continue to operate, but your battery usage information will not be saved. One clicks "OK", and the message pops up a second time. Click OK again, and the message goes away. BatteryBar does not appear in the systray. Trying to start it manually, or disabling/enabling in the list of toolbars also does not show it, so i am unsure how to get any further information to aid in debugging the problem. Also, the boot process hangs until the two dialog boxes are dismissed, which is, perhaps, the most annoying part! Since it doesn't show up in the tray at all, there's really no point in leaving installed and consuming resources. If you could tell me where the data file might be to overcome the error, or how to get a dump for you, i'd appreciate it. Otherwise, i'll have to discard for now. (Got it as part of an AppSumo package, so i won't ask for a refund, tho' BB was the only thing i really wanted out of the suite!)

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
I'm sorry to hear about the issue. Typically that problem is due to both the taskbar toolbar and the floating toolbar trying to run at the same time. I made some changes in 3.5.1 (beta) that should help work around that, but the two running at the same time will still cause clobbering.
I made an effort in the installer to check for the other version and remove it, but since I'm still getting reports of this issue I think there's more work to be done there. So this could be caused by installing the floating version and then installing the taskbar version and the installer not removing the floating version. The best thing to do is to delete the entire C:\Program Files\BatteryBar folder, reboot, and re-install. That should fix it. |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
I uninstalled the existing BatteryBar and, supposedly all the data with it, then reinstalled 3.5.0 after a reboot - i immediately got the 'unable to load stored data' message, which didn't occur until after i had rebooted previously. I've uninstalled again. I will try 3.5.1 after downloading, and let you know if i have any success with that.

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
Hello Chris,
As of today, I am receiving the exact same error message during startup, as others have described. I am Running Windows XP Service Pack 3. The error message is as follows "Unable to load stored data". I uninstalled program and installed version 3.5.2. No help, exact same problem. I have been running BatteryBar for several years. Why all of a sudden is this error occurring ?? Thank You |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
Please follow these steps to generate a debug report:
http://osirisdevelopment.com/wiki/Submit_a_bug_report Leave debugging enabled until the error occurs at least once or more, then disable it to submit the log through the feedback screen. You MUST include your email address, name, and a reference to this thread so I can report back to you on the issue. |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
During the installation of 3.5.2 prior to finish, the mentioned error message occurred and installation halted. Unfortunately, I have uninstalled the program, since I had no access to BatteryBar after the error message was acknowledged. Since I have Windows update configured for manual update and not automatic, there have been no recent Microsoft updates applied. It appears that for some reason the PC configuration has changed and BatteryBar now has a conflict and dueling for the same resources as something else at start up ??

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
There are either two copies of BatteryBar running trying to access the same data file, or your anti-virus is opening the file and causing the problem. You may wish to run the uninstaller, reboot, delete the entire C:\Program Files\BatteryBar folder then reinstall BatteryBar.

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
There was only on instance of BatteryBar running. Webroot SpySweeper AntiVirus program does not begin to load until the desktop appears, however BatteryBar was failing and prevented the desktop from appearing almost immediately after entering username and password at login and prevented the desktop from loading, until I cleared the error message. Please remember I had been running BatteryBar Pro for around two (2) years with absolutely no error messages or problems. I believe the version installed was version 3.3.0. This problem started just in the last week. I have not installed anything new nor have I implemented any Microsoft updates. As mentioned earlier, when I tried to install version 3.5.2 the same error message appeared before the installation was complete. Prior to installing version 3.5.2, I did remove the BatteryBar folder from "C:\Program Files\" and also removed the BatteryBar folder from "C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\Appliction Data\". I even made sure that BatteryBar was no longer present in the Windows registry "HKLM\Software\". Since this problem started, I have not seen the BatteryBar in the system tray, nor did I have access to any BatterBar menu features.
