RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
If you received an error during the update to 3.5.2, then that could be part of the problem. Please re-run the uninstaller, reboot, and remove the program files folder and then reinstall.
P.S. BatteryBar stores all its settings in %APPDATA%\BatteryBar. It does not use the Registry except to register itself as a valid toolbar. |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
I made sure that all BatteryBar folders were removed. Tried to install version 3.5.2 for the 3rd time. Installation ran to the end and when it was time to load the toolbar, the same error message window appeared as follows:
---------------------------------------------------------- | Error | | BatterBar was unable to load stored data | | BatteryBar will continue to operate, but will not be stored | ----------------------------------------------------------- There was no BatteryBar toolbar present in the system tray, however there were program files present in the C:\Program Files\BatteryBar folder. I uninstalled again, and a BatteryBar.log file was left behind. If that is of use, please send instructions how to E-mail to you. Thank You, P.S. are there any .dll or other files that may have been left behind in other folders, such as C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 ?? |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
No, there are no files placed anywhere outside the C:\Program Files\BatteryBar folder. After you ran the uninstaller, did you reboot and then delete the entire folder? It sounds like there's some program or version of BatteryBar trying to access the data folder.
After you uninstall and reboot, you can also delete %APPDATA%\BatteryBar which has the settings and profile data. You MUST reboot after uninstalling because Windows won't unload the toolbar until the explorer process completely closes on shutdown, so you can't delete the files until after a reboot. |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
Selecting taskbar properties and then looking at toolbars, BatteryBar was listed and checked, but not visible on the desktop. If I uncheck and re-check, the error message would appear. The BatteryBar is NEVER visible on the desktop. The uninstaller removed all files and the BatteryBar folder. There were no other instances of BatteryBar running. I have checked the processes and services and BatteryBar was not present. Yes, I did reboot after removal and before attempting to re-install. BatteryBar worked fine for two years. Something has changed and is no longer compatible with BatteryBar. Others in this thread have expressed similar issues. Have they successfully been resolved ??

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
I assume you also deleted the %APPDATA%\BatteryBar folder?
It's quite possible that somehow your settings or profile files got corrupted, but BatteryBar should handle those types of errors by replacing the files with empty files. I can't say for sure what's even happening. The best way for more to troubleshoot the issue would be to actually connect to the computer and run through a variety of troubleshooting steps to try to identify the cause. If you're willing to allow me to do that, send me an email or private message. |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
I mentioned earlier that there was a log file left behind. It shows an error code 2147467259. I have extracted some of the file. If you want to look at the whole file, please send E-mail address or other instructions.

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
Sorry I didn't ask for the log; I just assumed you were going to upload it based on your comment. You're welcome to upload the entire log file here for review or email it to me.
I can't tell a lot by that snippet of the log. I'd really prefer to have the entire log. From that though it appears as it the software is failing to register the PowerModeChanged system event. |

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
This has come back as an issue with 3.5.4. Fresh install of windows and fresh install of 3.5.4 and it demonstrated the exact issue above. Rolled back to 3.5.3 Beta and it works without issue. Upgrade from 3.5.3 to 3.5.4 and it errors out.

RE: BatteryBar was unable to load stored data.
There was an update last night that was caused by a third-party obfuscation program that makes a program harder to reverse engineer. We fixed the issue about an hour after the initial release. Just re-download it from the website and reinstall it and make sure to reboot after the install.
