Uninstall

I am hoping someone can help me with this. I am looking to uninstall this application. I tried it out and am going to remove it. Here's my system spec:

I have an HP dv6 Notebook PC
Windows 7 home
Intel Duo Core 2.2 ghz
4096 Ram.

Looking in my add/remove programs, this program is not listed. There is no uninstall included in the download. I am running version 3.3.1. I read another thread where at least his was in the install/uninstall. I am sure it's on my pc without notification in add/remove programs. It's in my program files. There is no uninstall link in the folder either. Any suggestions on how I remove the app?

There should be an Uninstall.exe in C:\Program Files\BatteryBar. I think there might be a bug in the installer if you upgrade from a previous version to a new one that the upgrade causes the Uninstall.exe to be deleted after rebooting. I need to look into that.

Basically, you should turn off BatteryBar, log off and back on again, then delete C:\Program Files\BatteryBar and %APPDATA%\BatteryBar. Then run "regedit.exe" and search for "BatteryBar". There are two entries the need to be removed.

Thank you for the reply Chris. My computer is running x64. I have 2 program files (Program Files for x64, and Program Files x86). This came default with my computer. I have installed this program once. Downloaded from this site. Version 3.3.1. I did not upgrade from a previous version. I let the installer install to the default place. It installed into Program Files x64. There is no uninstall.exe. I would look into this for future reference. I do have that bug. Can I manually delete the program, then remove from the registry, or is there something else I can do? Thank you.

BatteryBar runs natively on x64 and x86 systems because it's written in .NET. I'm not sure why the Uninstall.exe wasn't created.

You can uninstall it manually using the steps I suggested.

I would like to get your feedback on what you want to remove the product.

I'm uninstalling because I am having issues. When I right click and go into the toolbar .. there is no battery bar listed. I can create a new toolbar, but I really don't want to. The full lifetime is constantly saying calculating. I did read in the forum for this to work, to let the battery run down and then recharge it. I leave it plugged in. I see in the program files there are skins available. I'm not sure if these can be used in the free version. I didn't look for a response for that question. I would assume it's available in the pro version. I wasn't really looking for an app like this. I saw it on either cnet or pc world, (sorry, don't remember which site) and decided to check it out. I won't say it's a bad application as it does it's job. I would just prefer not to use it.

I am uninstalling from RHEL5.x. How is it done? I tried just removing things but end up with a bunch of ugligrams on system start-up.

The problem is that though I installed successfully, it was someone else's job and they consider it a security issue for me to have installed it.

BatteryBar isn't compatible with Linux so I don't see how you could have installed it. Is it supported by WINE?

Guys, why is the uninstall not available from within the Windows 7 "Programs and Features" control panel? And why is the ONLY program group this gets dropped in the "Startup" group? I have no program group for battery bar, and the only way to find out how to uninstall it was to search the forum. Not a good first impression.

The install does create an entry in the registry for the Add/Remove Programs (Or Uninstall Programs in Win7). It should say "BatteryBar (remove only)". I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up.

Also it looks like you installed the floating toolbar version. Admittedly, that version gets less attention than the taskbar toolbar version, which is the primary version. It is a bit of an oversight to not create a separate BatteryBar shortcut in the start menu if you install the floating toolbar. No shortcut is required for the taskbar toolbar since you open it by right-clicking on the taskbar.

I was very interested in this, it goes farther than most battery monitoring programs or gadgets. I installed the floating toolbar and liked it but wanted to try the other one. I went to uninstall it and there was no entry for. I went ahead and installed the recommended one and it told me it had to uninstall the floating one first, so one problem solved. After installing this one it was quite a let down. It was in the taskbar, what a ridiculous place for it. Space in the taskbar is premium real-estate and I did not want it there, don't like it. The floating toolbar was perfect it just didn't have any way of uninstalling it, a sure sign that it wasn't done right but it was perfect for my needs. I would buy it if that was fixed. Did not like your primary version, just a suggestion. Will keep checking back very interested.
