BatteryBar Pro V3.5.4 floats to the left on Windows 7
Hi,

I searched the forums but did not find anything similar to my issue. My BatteryBar Pro v. 3.5.4 Toolbar on Win7 Ultimate 64Bit keeps floating to the left after each reboot, and eventually starts "pushing out" my other taskbar-pinned programs out of view (e.g. forcing taskbar-pinned programs to become multi-line with scroll-controll arrows). The only solution solution to this I know of is is to periodically close BatteryBar Toolbar and reopen it again, therefore resetting it's proper position (e.g. to it's "most-right" position).

While it is not a big deal, after a while starts to get annoying, especially since I have been installing/recommending BatteryBar to others. So recently I started getting calls about this problem from my "less-technical" friends asking "Something happened to my taskbar, please help". So if there is a way to "permanently affix BatteryBar toolbar position" please let me know ASAP Smile

Is anybody else experiencing the same issue? Suggestions are welcomed.

Hi jackmark,

unfortunately I don't have a solution for your problem but have to admit that I have the same issue with both versions I tested (BatteryBar Pro 3.5.4 and 3.5.5) since installing a second (=ultrabay) battery in my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 with Win7 Pro 64bit.
The bar floats near the startbutton every ~2-3 seconds and then steps back to its origin position. Reinstalling BatteryBar seemed to solve the issue but after a restart the problem is there again.
Maybe Chris might have a solution for that issue?

Greetings
Stefan

BatteryBar doesn't have control over it's location on the taskbar. All BatteryBar does is expose an interface that allows the taskbar (explorer.exe) to load it. It's possible there's some type of conflict between BatteryBar and another toolbar. One option I have would be to compile the application allowing the display of the resize/move gripper so you can manually move the toolbar around. I'm not sure if that will solve it or not, but I could make a special build with that option enabled if you're willing to test it.

Hi Chris,

thank you for your reply and your explanation. The fact that BatteryBar doesn't have control over its location indicates - as you mentioned - that there is another toolbar that just doesn't turn visible but that is started when batterybar starts floating to the left.
As I said the only thing I changed was installing the second battery. The floating already started at the first boot after installing the second battery. So although I disabled the Lenovo Energy Manager Bar (which is indeed located at the same position BatterBay is located) it might be that this bar is started in the background because of the second battery (maybe it "wants" to report something) but isn't shown. I will watch this carefully when the floating comes back. Meanwhile after completely uninstalling BatteryBar (incl. deleting old folder in %AppData% and old registry entrys) and a clean reinstall it might work without floating.
None of the less I could test that special build you mention.

Greetings,
Stefan
